The Blue Mountains are not as the name suggests a range of mountains, but rather a series of cliffs surrounding a plateau with rugged eroded gorges. The name derives from the blueish tinge they take when viewed at a distance, which is caused by the release of volatile oils from eucalyptus forests.

Visit the award-winning Featherdale Wildlife Park and see our indigenous Australian animals including koalas, kangaroos and crocodiles. Relax on a gentle bushwalk at Govetts Leap, discover the delightful antique shops of Leura, see the historic township of Katoomba, the Three Sisters rock formation and the spectacular scenery of the Jamison and Megalong Valleys.

Departs: 8.45am daily. Returns: 6.00pm.

Options: Enjoy a 2 course lunch at Terrafirma Gourmet Restaurant and a cruise along the Parramatta River (tour finishes at Circular Quay), or finish the day with a visit to the Sydney Aquarium.

J32: Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves

Experience the amazing and beautiful limestone formations in the unique heritage listed Jenolan Caves. Travel to the Blue Mountains, view the Three Sisters rock formation from Scenic World where you can experience the Railway, Skyway or Cableway (own expense). Join a guided tour of the amazing caves from the comfort of a walkway, enjoy free time at the Cave and see the Blue Lake.

Departs: 8.30am Mon, Tue, Thu and Sat. Returns: 6.45pm.

Options: Jenolan Caving - Put on overalls, a hard hat and miner's light and experience the thrill of crawling through unlit caves. You will need to be reasonably fit and agile, wear sturdy footwear and not be concerned with confined space to undertake this tour (minimum age 10 years).
